Background

Web Design Just For You was formed in 2011 when website were entirely coded in HTML, the language used for basic website design.  Adobe Dreamweaver was a popular software tool commonly used to write the html.  In fact, it is still useful when special website features require custom coding.

Across the past decade, many website platforms and tools were developed, evolving to its current state.  Some stayed and many did not last.  One of the website platforms that remains and continues to grow is WordPress.

We Use WordPress

Originally, WordPress was developed for blogs, which is short for weblog.  A blog was usually maintained by updates of articles or diary type entries written by a person or small group of people on a particular general topic.  The entries were written informally or in a conversational style.

Since then, however, WordPress has grown to be used by businesses and other organizations as a platform for websites that are not just blogs.

Why WordPress? Its Versatility

WordPress allows for software plugins to be added for different functionalities.  Many plugins are free, and in general, you can find a plugin to provide any feature you want.

WordPress also allows you to install different themes.  There are hundreds, maybe thousands of themes you may now pick from to provide different layouts and appearances of a website.

Of course, plugins and themes vary in prices and fucntionality as well as the ability you have to customize things on the site.  Some work well, but others don’t.  Experience plays a big part in setting up a great website to look and function the way you want.  Knowing how to customize and code special features, etc. is key to being able to make that website unique and wholly representative of your business or organization.
